The Spine Race is a non-stop walk along the of the entire 267 mile length of the Pennine Way held annually in the inhospitable conditions of mid January.
Typically taking around a week, it is widely recognised as one of the toughest long distance walking challenges in the world.
Event organisers warn that entrants should “Expect to face extreme weather, deep snow, ice, mud, bogs, ground water, storm force winds and driving rain in [our] gruelling, non-stop, 7-day race from Edale to Kirk Yetholm.”
