Billed as one of the toughest sportives on the calendar, La Marmotte takes its name from the groundhog-like creatures that inhabit the Hautes Alpes where the ride is run. Taking in mighty cols like the Glandon, Télégraphe, Galibier and finishing with a run up the famous bends of L'Alpe d'Huez, it should be on every serious road cyclist's wish list.
Note - The 2015 route differed from previous editions as landslides made access to the Galibier impossible. Riders instead tackled the Col du Mollard and the Col de la Croix de Fer.
