In 2015 Massif Central were approached by Bicycling Magazine to illustrate the answer to a question that had come up in their production offices; which colour bike had been the most successful at the Tour de France?
Adding our own knowledge and design parameters to the historical research of the Bicycling Magazine team, we came up with a design that grew from initially going to be a small illustration within the magazine to a standalone screenprinted poster detailing all the winning riders, teams and bikes since 1947. We called on the services of London's master screenprinter Dan Mather to hand pull this 11-colour behemoth.
"Produced in a limited edition of just 150 signed copies on thick, luxurious paper, “The Colour of Victory” is visually striking at first glance—and as you get closer, it tells a story sure to captivate the most passionate of cycling fans."
